Hanging over the doge's throne is Paradise (Tintoretto, c. 1588) which is said to be the world's largest (74ft x 30ft) oil painting on canvas.
The huge Hall of the Grand Council, which could seat 2,600, was covered by paintings. Paradise hangs on the far wall.
